Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Slept on this album last year, and have just finally got around to listening to / getting into it. Sounding a lot like Passion Pit's "Manners" to me, it's sounds like PP was jamming this album while recording Manners (or vice-versa). In my opinion, the songwriting here is more refined, and there's less synth clutter in Phoenix's music. Easily the most listenable album that Phoenix has released, and obviously a logical step from (if not also a combination of) their last two albums.

Eric Avery - Help Wanted

Eric Avery, the original bass player for Jane's Addiction, has a solo album out. After a couple listens, it's sinking in, and I'm enjoying it. Weird space rock, with hints of psychedelia... and a ton of guests.

Pretty good stuff!
